The Guinness World Record awarded to the PlayStation as the best-selling console mark to date

Playstation has been certified as the best-selling home video game console, with more than 450 million units sold worldwide, whether on PlayStation, PS2, PS3 or PS4 of origin.

We are delighted to be certified as the best-selling home video game brand to date, with more than 450 million units sold on the PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and PS4 consoles as from 7 November, says a tweet of the account account manager Twitter PlayStation.

The result is a certain controversy on the Internet, mainly because it is based on Vgchartz, a website that follows sales of consoles and games around the world, but often lacking precision compared to official sales. Vgchartz is a forum source of forums with strong moderation, such as Queetera.

This record has, however, been certified by Guinness World Records, World Record Record Authority since 1955, which confirms commercial success not only the ancient PlayStation consoles, but also the PS4.

PS4 reached 102.8 million consoles sold worldwide as at September 30, 2019, making it the second most sold console to date, flying the original Playstation (102.49 million units) and the Wii (101.63 million units). Playstation 2.

The Playstation celebrates its 25th anniversary today, the original Playstation is released on December 3, 1994, and will release its latest iteration, the PS5, by Holiday 2020, in about one year.
